Imagine sitting in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida where over 18,000 future business leaders have gathered to compete at the highest level. Where each of the 60 competition events includes the top 250 student teams from all over the world!
Thirty-eight Valley Christian High School students experienced this honor at this year’s DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC). These students qualified at the California State Development Conference earlier this year. Students competed in business, hospitality, management, and marketing events from April 27-30, 2019.
Valley Christian’s DECA chapter qualified 33 students for the international competition, while 5 students participated in the Thrive and Ignite Leadership Academy. Though the number of students, competitions, and teams was staggering, we are thrilled to report that 11 of our VCHS DECA team members moved on to the final round in their competition event! And 2 student teams placed first in their events!
